ChatterShot.com - How It Works

Writers have content to sell.  Web publishers need content for their web sites.  ChatterShot.com creates a friction free online marketplace to bring the two together.

Just like a job posting web is divided between job seekers and employers, ChatterShot.com is divided between content generators (publishers and authors) and content consumers (buyers and web site publishers).  Buyers spend the money and producers receive the money.  If you are a web site publisher, you could be both a content generator and a buyer.

You Are a Content Generator If:

1.  You are an author

  • Are you just getting started in your career? - Not all web content is about quality.  Buyers with an SEO motivation are looking for low-cost, keyword-rich content on almost any topic.  It is a great way to get started writing while you build your career.
  • Do you want to promote yourself as a an expert in your field or write on a specialty topic? - ChatterShot.com gives you the opportunity to market your written content to other web sites in your specialty and promote yourself as well.
  • Are you a professional writer? - You are already paid to write.  ChatterShot.com gives you the opportunity to take your career to the next step by syndicating yourself.
  • Are you a big name writer? - ChatterShot.com provides and efficient and friction-free marketplace for you to obtain the true market value of your work through syndication or high-value exclusive sales.
  • Are you a blogger? - Tired of writing for free?  Maybe it is time you got paid for your hard work.  Potentially reach a larger audience with posting on more sites by selling your writings through ChatterShot.com.

2.  You employ writers

If you have a staff of writers working for you, and you own the intellectual property rights to their work, then you can publish that work on ChatterShot.com.  You do not need to be the author to post work in the ChatterShot.com marketplace.  You only need to own the intellectual property rights.

3.  You own the rights to written content

Whether you are the author or now, all you have to do to sell written content on ChatterShot.com is to own the rights to it.

You Are a Content Buyer If:

You own (or manage) a web site.  Why would you need content?

a.  Search Engine Optimization

Do you want to increase your web site's search engine ranking?  Among the most important criteria in search engine ranking algorithms are regularly updated, keyword rich content and high quality, external links to your site.  ChatterShot.com is your source for the content.  Add high quality content from ChatterShot.com to your web site and the external links will follow.  Even low-budget, content can significantly increase your search engine rankings if it has the right keywords and is updated regularly.

b.  Subscription-based Revenue Models

Why not build your own New York Times or Huffington Post?  If you have a subscription-based revenue model for your web site or plan to build a subscription-based web site, adding high quality content to your site can increase your subscriber base and keep current subscribers renewing.

c.  Increase Web Site Traffic and "Stickiness"

Does your web site promote your companies product?  Adding related articles from the ChatterShot.com inventory can improve your sites search engine rankings, drive traffic to your site from a wider variety of keywords, and keep your customers there long enough to get your marketing message across.

What Kind of Content Can Be Bought or Sold on ChatterShot.com?

How Do I Incorporate ChatterShot.com Content into my Web Site?

There are two ways to incorporate ChatterShot.com content onto your site:

1.  We make available a series of JavaScript "widgets" which you can copy and paste into your web site HTML pages.  This allows basic functions such as displaying an article or list of articles and categories.

2.  More powerful than the widget, is the full-featured web service application programming interface (API).  To see the full capabilities of the web service API (and articles you can buy), visit www.wealthipedia.com

Both techniques are supported by all popular web programming languages including ASP.NET, PHP, Java Server Pages, and classic ASP.
