Written content on any subject can be bought or sold on ChatterShot.com with
the following limitations:
- As the publisher, you must own the rights to the content.
- Currently, only English content is supported.
- Content that incorporates images or video is not currently supported (you can

Is the content I buy exclusive?
The option to purchase content exclusively is left to the publisher of the
content. There are three levels of exclusivity for content:
- Globally Exclusive - The publisher claims that the content does not legally
exist anywhere in either print, digital, or web form. The content can be
purchased by only one ChatterShot.com customer at a time and cannot be sold in
printed form.
- Web Exclusive - The publisher claims that the content does not legally exist
elsewhere on the web although it may exist in print. The content can be
purchased by only one ChatterShot.com customer at a time.
- Not Exclusive - The content has no claim to exclusivity. It can be
purchased by an unlimited number of ChatterShot.com customers and may exist
outside of the ChatterShot.com network.
When I buy content, how long do I have the rights to own it?
When a publisher posts content for sale, they specify different prices for
different lengths of time - anywhere from one week to one year. When you
buy the content, you will specify the length of time that you can own the
content.
I have bought content. What happens when the term expires?
Once the term expires, you can no longer display the content on your web site.
I own multiple web sites. When I buy content, can I display it on more
than one of my sites?
Yes. You must register each site with ChatterShot.com. It cannot be
displayed on any unregistered site. This requirement helps us to enforce
exclusivity.
When I display content on my web site, do I have to provide attribution to the
author?
When a publisher posts content, they will specify whether author attribution is
required. Not requiring attribution is refered to as the
"ghostwriting" model. In that case, you can attribute the article to any
author - even yourself. If attribution is required, you must display the
article byline to comply with the licensing agreement. Obviously, the
content following the ghostwriting model is expected to be more expensive.
I bought content. How do I get the content on my web site?
There are two ways to incorporate ChatterShot.com content onto your site:
1. We make available a series of JavaScript "widgets" which you can copy
and paste into your web site HTML pages. This allows basic functions such
as displaying an article or list of articles and categories.
2. More powerful than the widget, is the full-featured web service
application programming interface (API). To see the full capabilities of
the web service API (and articles you can buy), visit
www.wealthipedia.com.
Both techniques are supported by all popular web programming languages including
ASP.NET, PHP, Java Server Pages, and classic ASP.
For more information, refer to our
Technical Integration Guide.
Can articles have images with them?
Distributing images with articles is not supported at this time. Images
hosted elsewhere on the web can be linked to from the article, however if the
image is removed from its host server, or is moved, the link in the article will
be broken.
What kind of formatting is supported in the content?
All content is HTML. Keeping your article formatting to the basic tags of
bold, italic, paragraph, and headings 1 through 6 is recommended.
Embedding CSS styles or JavaScript in your articles is not recommended and such
content may be stripped out.
Does ChatterShot.com accept content in languages other than English?
Currently only English is supported. Support for other languages is coming
soon.
